135G MASS • PALM LAUNCH
DJI Neo radically redefines personal aerial videography by removing the remote controller barrier. Weighing just 135 grams with enclosed prop guards, it combines onboard monocular AI tracking with RockSteady electronic stabilization.
The DJI Neo is DJI’s lightest and most autonomous consumer drone to date. Engineered specifically for zero-controller operation, the aircraft relies entirely on embedded computer vision algorithms to recognize human subjects, launch directly from an outstretched palm, and track movement.
1. AI Subject Tracking & Monocular Vision
Unlike larger GPS-reliant drones that struggle near structures or indoor environments, the Neo leverages high-framerate downward optical flow sensors combined with its forward-facing imaging sensor:
- Palm Takeoff & Landing: A dedicated mode selector button on the top shell lets users toggle between Follow, Dronie, Circle, Rocket, Spotlight, and Custom without touching a smartphone.
- Computer Vision Pipeline: The onboard vision processing unit (VPU) tracks torso and head vectors at up to 8 m/s, automatically compensating for sudden changes in direction.
- Acoustic Noise Profile: Despite high-RPM micro-motors, the enclosed prop duct design reduces high-frequency pitch noise, rendering it unobtrusive during close-proximity filming.
| Feature | Specification | Functional Advantage |
|---|---|---|
