Published Coverage.
Different stories require different methods. This illustrates one way our editorial process can move from source review to published coverage, depending on the article and the information available.
DISCOVER
Identify a relevant product, technology, specification, change, or claim.
SOURCE
Review relevant primary documentation and credible supporting sources.
OBSERVE
When coverage is hands-on, physically operate and evaluate the actual hardware.
CONDITIONAL STEPCLASSIFY
Distinguish measurement, observation, documentation, research, inference, and unverified claims.
REPORT
Write with appropriate attribution, context, methodology, provenance, and limitations where material.
UPDATE
Correct or update published coverage when meaningful errors, revisions, or material changes are identified.
Six Types
of Evidence.
Our editorial framework uses six evidence categories to distinguish direct measurement and observation from documentation, research, inference, and claims that remain unverified.
MEASURED
Used only for quantitative results recorded by Top Tech Reveal under a defined question, setup, method, and measurement process.
OBSERVED
Used for qualitative behavior directly witnessed while Top Tech Reveal physically handled and operated the actual product.
DOCUMENTED
Used for information supported by authoritative standards, regulatory filings, manufacturer technical documentation, or relevant official implementation sources.
RESEARCHED
Used for conclusions developed through analysis and synthesis of multiple credible external sources.
INFERRED
Used for reasoned technical interpretation derived from available evidence and clearly distinguished from direct observation or measurement.
NOT VERIFIED
Used for manufacturer, vendor, or other external claims Top Tech Reveal has not independently confirmed.

Hands-On Reviews
Based on physical use of the actual hardware. The evaluation scope depends on the product and may include setup, integrations, compatibility, observed behavior, limitations, and relevant operating context.
Standards and Specifications
Standards coverage prioritizes first-party specifications, implementation notes, and technical change logs.
Research and Synthesis
Research articles combine multiple credible sources and clearly separate sourced facts from interpretation.
News and Updates
News coverage prioritizes what changed, who announced it, and what remains uncertain.
Measured Findings
Measured evidence is reserved for quantitative results recorded under a defined setup and process.
